What Happened:
I emailed the client about a charge that I wasn’t sure about. The memo of this charge stated, “QB Support” and it was $449.99. I had not previously seen a charge like this before and when the client responded he said it was for a renewal. That still didn’t sit right with me so I chatted with and called QB Support myself. At first QB Support said that charge didn’t come from them. They asked me to call and ask to be transferred to the Point of Sales team. I did that and they did not charge this to the client for anything they could see on their end. I suspected that it was a fraudulent charge. I let my client know all of this. This was very recent so I don’t think this has been resolved since I advised the client to contact his bank. He did mention the following and I am waiting to see if he has any additional comments.
Our Client’s Words:
“Dulce, Wow! I didn’t catch this, I just assumed. I called the number tagged on this, and it’s a “holding” call with music. No answer. Can we claim this as fraudulent?” – RG
